My name is Tina, I am the owner and sonographer at New Beginnings we offer 3D and 4D baby scans for mums in the North West of Ireland. I started New Beginnings to offer families more choice and opportunities to bond with baby at the most precious time. Coming from a medical hospital-based background for over 18 years it's so nice to be able to offer a personalised service. At New Beginnings mums and families enjoy the added reassurance of having your baby checked by an experienced professional in a more relaxed and family centred environment.

I am a clinical Midwife Specialist Sonographer in the field of Obstetric and Gynaecological ultrasound. I worked as a midwife for over 15 years and then embarked on the new and exciting career of becoming a sonographer. I have worked in a busy fetal diagnostic unit for the last 10 years undertaking a variety of scans on a daily basis including early pregnancy assessment, dating scans, detailed anatomy scans, multiple pregnancy and other high risk pregnancy surveillance. Although I love the area of diagnostics, I also feel due to the recent pandemic and restraints on the system couples and families need additional bonding and wellbeing opportunities.

My experience and qualifications include a Bsc in General Nursing, a HDip in Midwifery and more recently a Msc in Obstetric and Gynaecological ultrasound. I also attend various continuing professional development study days throughout the year and was chosen as a delegate to present a poster at the British Medical Ultrasound society's annual conference in 2015. I am currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and I have memberships with the Society of radiographers (SOR), the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and the Fetal Medicine Foundation.
